Betting Masterclasses – The Beginning

Getting а valuable piece of advice from the right person is often equal to spending multiple hours reading, researching and practicing. Sometimes just a single word at the right moment is what makes the difference and what turns a scarred-of-heights person into a pilot or a hobby gambler into a professional. It takes a lot of effort and dedication to master any type of skill and those who have done it know an awful amount of secrets along the way. If you’re curious to know how a pro gambler thinks and acts or you’re interested in stealing their best moves, just keep on reading. For the sake of this, I’ve researched the pro gamblers’ mindset thoroughly and I’ve tried to narrow the success secrets down to the following key practices.

Emotional Discipline

Playing PokerRule number one for professional gamblers is leaving all emotions at home. We can’t live without feeling but keeping the emotional rollercoaster under control is what professional players learn to do first. To be honest, emotional intelligence is important not only in gambling but in life in general. Emotions help us a lot but only if we know how to manage them. Otherwise, they become the enemy! Now, imagine the enemy taking control over your bets! Nobody would want that! Gamblers need a clear, well-rested, sober, and most of all a calm mind! Emotions tend to mess up with this zen state. And I don’t just mean negative emotions. Positive emotions are just as bad. So, when there are bets are on the table pretend you are at work and you are paid to be professional. And part of your work is to remain calm. I know, gambling is one of the most exciting activities and what’s required is not easy. Yet, there is the trick! Practice self-control, endurance, stay focused, and filter away all emotions. Think of yourself as a robot, a pre-programmed machine and just automatically do what’s best and not what you FEEL like doing! When you’re done all the set-aside emotions are yours to take again!

Psychology of Winning and Losing

Player emotionsNobody wants to lose, and everybody likes to win! But how gamblers embrace defeat and success is what makes them either great or not-so-great. When most people fail to win, the natural response is to start finding excuses or blaming Mercury Retrograde, to say the least. Losing repeatedly causes most people to lose confidence and start discouraging themselves. If you want to be a professional gambler you have to work hard on not being like most people and master your reaction to losses. Losing should be a learning opportunity and nothing to be afraid of. Compete like you train or train like you compete is something all professional gamblers believe in. Winning, on the other hand, comes with a massive adrenaline and happiness boost which could also have very negative side effects. Such as overconfidence, recklessness, but most frequently it leads to increased bets. And there is nothing wrong with raising as long as it’s not out of pure joy only.

I hope you’ve enjoyed our first masterclass! I’m thinking about turning this into a series, so I’ll be glad to see you back very soon!
